Here's a sneak peak from our designer, Lyndsay, on our upcoming looks and feel of the Shade 09 fall collection! Also, next week I am planning to give you a sneak peak in to our photoshoot a few weeks back and all the behind the scenes fun! Be excited for the Fall 09 collection, I know I am!
Essential Looks For Fall 2009
By: Lyndsay Galbraith, Senior Apparel Designer .
Shirt Dresses: Its so nice to see the dress make such a huge comeback this year! For fall and winter the waist has returned. We have updated our shirt dress with a drawstring at the waist. You will find this style in a great neutral plaid that can be a great canvas for brightly-colored, fun accessories.
Plaid: Plaid is everywhere……Skirts, shirts, and tunics.
Military Details: Brass buttons and snaps. Tabbed details. Pea coats.
Boyfriend-inspired silhouettes: Time to raid your guy’s closet. We are seeing lots of oversized styles, from v-neck t-shirts to baggy denim. Keep your eye out for our version of the v-neck boyfriend tee. We have selected a super-soft, washed cotton for our new t-shirt. We have also added a fun contrast chain-stitch at the shoulder and neck binding.
Winter Florals: Floral prints aren’t just for summer anymore. We are seeing a lot of florals in nice, subdued color combinations.
Cardigans: Absolutely essential for the ever so popular layered look. Layer your cardigan over our great button-down oxford. We are offering a number of new silhouettes including our new boy-friend inspired cardigan. This sweater will be offered in a multi-stripe, and will be great dressed-up or down.
